Satêxtil is a family-owned company founded in 1971. It’s founder Manuel

da Cruz Matos Carneiro, like many entrepreneurs at the time, optimized the watershed

hydrographic system of the Ave River with regard to the use of hydraulic energy,

communication and the enormous human potential.

The memory of the textile industry in Vale do Ave, dates back to 1974 when it becomes the first national industry of the country.

Therefor Satêxtil is a representation of a local tradition that quickly expands worldwide, through the new family generations.

At its foundation it was dedicated to the production of 100% polyester fabrics, but in the course of new times, it has devoted to more noble fabrics, either in dyed yarns or dyed to the pieces of cloth.

Over its 50 years of history, Satêxtil has already included three family generations that

follow the passion and identity of Vale do Ave.
